26% More U.S. Children Experienced Anxiety Or Depression During First Year Of COVID-19
About 26% more children in the United States experienced anxiety or depression during the first year of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency, according to a report from the Annie E. Casey Foundation (AECF). Prior to COVID-19 (in 2016), about 9.4% of children ages 3 through 17 (5.8 million kids) experienced anxiety or depression.
