85% Of Primary Care Clinicians Report Patients’ Mental Health Decreased; 31% Report Rise In Addictions

Nearly a third of primary care clinicians (31%) have seen a rise in health care consumers with addiction, based on a mid-October 2020 survey of primary care physicians. More than 85% of doctors report that consumer mental health has decreased during the pandemic, while 37% say consumers with chronic conditions are in “noticeably worse health resulting from the pandemic.” About 56% have seen an increase in negative health burdens due to delayed or inaccessible care.
