Brief Risk Interview© (BRI)
The Brief Risk Interview© (BRI) was developed as a protocol to determine potential patient risk of violating a treatment agreement related to prescription opioids and risk of future opioid misuse. The clinical interview was developed in 2012, and takes approximately 7-15 minutes to administer. The BRI can be utilized as a stand-alone interview, or embedded within a longer clinical interview. This version of the tool is a 26-item, clinician-administered validated instrument, including follow up questions, in nine domains:
