Colorado To Increase Behavioral Health Access To Divert People Away From The Criminal Justice System

Under legislation signed on May 19, 2022, the new Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) will provide grants to local governments and other entities to launch programs to prevent people with behavioral health disorders from becoming involved with the criminal justice system. The grant-funded programs can focus on early intervention, deflection, or redirection to appropriate behavioral health services.
