Depression Stigma Drops For First Time In U.S.

A recent survey found the first evidence of significant decreases in public stigma toward depression in the U.S. Between 1996 and 2018, respondents reported increasing beliefs that mental health problems are caused by genetics or disruptions in the brain, rather than moral causes including having a bad character or bad upbringing.
