Drug Overdose Deaths Up 30% From 2019 To 2020
Drug overdose deaths across the United States were 30% higher in 2020 than the year before, increasing from 70,615 deaths in 2019 to 91,799. Among 25 states and the District of Columbia, the largest increase in overdoses occurred among Black youth and young adults ages 15 to 24.
