Community Health Network Psychiatry Residency Associate Program Director
MoreDr. Areef Kassam has served as the Associate Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency Training Program at Community Health Network since 2020. Additionally, he works clinically at Community Fairbanks Behavioral Health Gallahue Community Support Services clinic where he supervises teams providing holistic, foundational care for individuals struggling with Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder through community-based programming and services. Dr. Kassam completed his B.S. in Biology from IUPUI as well as his Masters in Public Affairs with a concentration in Health Services Administration at IU. He graduated from medical school from the Medical University of the Americas in 2014, before joining Community Health Network’s inaugural class for its new psychiatry program in 2016. Dr. Kassam is passionate about education, especially interdisciplinary learning and integration. He is Clinical Faculty at Marian University Medical School, as well as clinical preceptor through Purdue University and Butler University for their PMHNP and Physician’s Assistant programs. Dr. Kassam sits on several local and national committees and taskforces engaged in promoting psychiatric education, workforce enhancement, as well as fostering growth with justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.Dr Alex Matushek, PharmD, MBA (OPDC) is an employee of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Development & Commercialization, Inc.
