About This Event
The Effects Of Racism On The Mental Healthcare Community: How Marginalized Patients & Providers Are Impacted
As a community, we know that the effects of racism are not confined to patients alone–but can impact mental health professionals. This webinar will highlight some of the barriers that healthcare professionals experience, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and other marginalized groups. Our presenters will also discuss the impact of racism on accessing mental health services and the strategies the health care and research communities are implementing to address some of these challenges. In honor of National Minority Mental Health Month, PsychU has invited Drs. Napoleon Higgins & Gonzalo Gonzalez to share their expertise on these critical issues.
