Virtual Event – Decriminalizing Mental Illness
U.S. correctional institutions, local courts, and police officers frequently encounter people with untreated mental health disorders. During this talk the speakers will examine statistics and demographics of individuals in the criminal justice system with a focus on those with mental health disorders. The speakers discuss the different types of jail diversion services available for individuals with a mental health disorder within the criminal justice system .Finally, the speakers review available resources for caregivers and patients navigating the criminal justice system.
