Virtual Event – Viruses, Vaccines, & Long-Term Consequences: An Update on SARS-CoV-2
SARS-CoV-2 has impacted our health, wealth, and lives on a global scale, the extent to which will not be fully appreciated for years to come. As we begin to re-establish ourselves after more than a year of uncertainty, risk, and restrictions, many questions have been answered, yet many questions remain regarding this novel coronavirus and its potential long-term consequences to our society.
In this virtual learning event, Dr. Rachel Self shares perspectives on what we now know with respect to the virus, viral variants, differential presentation of infection, vaccines, and inflammation with Dr. Gary Pattee, clinical neurologist and assistant professor at University of Nebraska Medical Center. They will reflect on scientific advances in understanding the virus, its mutations, and vaccine development, as well as the potential long-term impact of SARS-CoV-2 as neurological, psychiatric, and other health-related consequences of this novel coronavirus begin to unfold. Resources for the most up to date science on the virus and available vaccines will be discussed for health care providers, their patients, and communities.
