Managing Major Depressive Disorder In Patients With Comorbid Cardiovascular Disease
In this short presentation, Sloan Manning, MD, Medical Director of Novant Health Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine; Adjunct Associate Professor, School of Medicine, University of North Carolina; and Co-Director of the Mood Disorder Clinic, Residency Program, Moses Cone Family Medicine, described the bidirectional association between major depressive disorder (MDD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD), reviews pathophysiology that may underlie these conditions’ relationship, and discussed pharmacological and nonpharmacological considerations for treatment planning.
