Medicare Part B To Reimburse For Services Provided By Licensed Professional Counselors
The federal Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, the funding omnibus bill, includes provisions that will expand Medicare Part B coverage of outpatient mental health care to include reimbursing for services provided by licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) and licensed professional counselors (LPCs). These provisions were to go into effect on or after January 1, 2024.
