Pharmacists Authorized To Test For COVID-19

New Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) guidelines, announced April 8, 2020, authorize licensed pharmacists to order and administer FDA-approved COVID-19 tests, including serology tests.1 Those who do so will qualify as “covered persons” under the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act, protecting them from liability.2
