Prescribing patterns in the United States varied widely across the states for psychotropic medications prescribed to adult Medicaid beneficiaries diagnosed with a schizophrenia spectrum disorder. Psychotropic medications include long-acting injectable (LAIs) antipsychotics, oral clozapine, antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and benzodiazepine. Of the 357,914 people whose data was included in the analysis, 85% were prescribed and filled a prescription for an antipsychotic of any type.
