Dr. Silvia maintains a practice site at the Codman Square Health Center, a federally-qualified community health center in Dorchester, MA. He maintains a busy collaborative practice in integrated behavioral health within the primary care clinics of the center. He is Board Certified in Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy (BCPP), and is active in the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) and American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). His research interests include measuring the effectiveness of clinical pharmacists in novel practice settings and studying the adverse effects observed with psychotropic medications and the appropriate management and treatment of these adverse effects.
Schools Attended
Dr. Silvia earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island. Afterwards, he completed a two-year residency/fellowship in psychiatric pharmacy practice at the Institute of Living in Hartford, CT and affiliated with the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. He then joined the faculty of MCPHS University in 2001, where he is currently a Professor of Pharmacy Practice.
