Virtual Event – Importance Of Adherence To Outcomes In Schizophrenia & Bipolar Disorder

This is a Virtual Event for PsychU members in New York City, Westchester, Rockland County, NY, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine.

Nonadherence is a serious problem that can compromise treatment effectiveness in psychiatry. This presentation will review the multidimensional factors that contribute to adherence, discuss consequences of poor adherence, and bring to light implementation strategies to address adherence.

Christoph Correll, MD

Chair of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy, Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Campus Virchow, Berlin, Germany. Professor of Psychiatry at The Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, New York, USA.

Professor Correll’s research and clinical work focus on the identification, characterization and treatment of youth with severe mental illness, including psychotic and mood disorders, spanning all disease stages from the prodrome to first and multi-episode illness and up to refractory illness. He further focuses on psychopharmacology, epidemiology, comparative effectiveness, meta-analyses, the risk–benefit evaluation of psychotropic medications, and the interface between physical health and mental health.

Joseph Goldberg, MD

Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Dr. Goldberg currently serves as the Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology. Dr. Goldberg has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers on topics related to the treatment and clinical features of bipolar disorder, as well as three books on bipolar disorder and psychopharmacology.

ATTENDANCE LIMITATIONS

PsychU declines attendance after a healthcare professional has attended a pre-determined number of programs, has attended multiple programs on the same topic or is outside the appropriate specialty for PsychU programs, to avoid any appearance of impropriety between OPDC and the healthcare professional. This measure protects the healthcare professional as well as OPDC.
