Join us for this on-demand webinar, moderated by Haneefa Rakeeb, DNP, PMHNP-BC, AFN-BC, Philip Yanos, Ph.D., and JoAnn Dorio Burton, CPRP, who share the impact of narrative therapy interventions to support individuals suffering from PTSD. We will briefly discuss the NECT methodology and delve into the impact of The Hero’s Journey in the recovery process.

MoreJoAnn is a trainer, consultant and author. She has worked as the Community Programs Coordinator at Windhorse Community Services, in Boulder Colorado. JoAnn is a longtime advocate of community mental health, clubhouse programs, and psychiatric rehabilitation. She has a BA degree in Therapeutic Recreation and Sociology, (concentration Social Work) from Lehman College, CUNY and attended the Transpersonal Counseling Program at Naropa University. In 2018, JoAnn received the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner Award.

MorePhilip is a professor in the Psychology Department at John Jay College and The Graduate Center. A clinical psychologist, he received his Ph.D. in from St. John’s University in 1999 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in mental health services research at Rutgers University in 2001, and has been faculty at John Jay since 2006. He is an internationally recognized expert in mental health stigma, author of the book “Written-Off: Mental Health Stigma and the Loss of Human Potential” (Cambridge University Press, 2018), associate editor of the journal “Stigma and Health,” and the author of over 130 peer-reviewed publications. He has been awarded the John Jay College Scholarly Excellence Award 5 times since 2009.

MoreHaneefa has been a nurse for over 10 years and is a certified psychiatric mental nurse practitioner.
