Many patients with schizophrenia would like to participate in shared decision-making (SDM) with their health care providers. In observed communication between patients and doctors in mental health care, SDM was not routinely implemented which may cause patients to be behave passively during psychiatric encounters.
Patient communication training may improve patient communication skills such as question asking and information provision.
