Virtual Event – The Role Of Glutamate In Mood Disorders & Schizophrenia
A Virtual Live Event for PsychU members in Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, and eastern New York.
Glutamate is the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter in the nervous system, and glutamatergic dysregulation has been implicated in the pathophysiology of both mood disorders and schizophrenia. This presentation will examine current research in this area, provide an overview of ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors, discuss the rationale for development of glutamatergic modulators in the treatment of mood disorders and schizophrenia, and review various targets for therapy.
