Assessing Treatment Adherence In Individuals Living With Bipolar Disorder

Maintaining adherence with prescribed treatment is a major challenge in the management of individuals living with bipolar disorder (BD). It is estimated that about 20% to 60% of individuals living with BD are not adherent with agreed-upon recommendations from a prescribing clinician.1 Multiple studies have demonstrated that treatment nonadherence can have significant, negative effects on BD prognosis and outcomes, including:
