Baltimore To Pilot 911 Diversion Program For Mental Health Crisis

In June 2021, the City of Baltimore will launch a pilot 911 diversion program for mental health crisis calls for people with suicidal ideation and without weapons or plans to act on those thoughts. Two types of calls will be handled: “non-suicidal and alert” (psychiatric/abnormal behavior/suicide) and “suicidal and alert” (psychiatric/abnormal behavior/suicide).
