About This Event
The Danger of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Stigma Among Marginalized Communities
Marginalized communities are those excluded from mainstream social, economic, educational, and/or cultural life. Examples include race, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical ability, language and/or immigration status1. This webinar aims to raise awareness between post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the stigma associated with marginalized communities. A review of risk factors, challenges in identification, diagnosis, and treatment of PTSD in this community will be explored; followed by a discussion of barriers to accessing care and how healthcare professionals can improve these challenges in practice. Join us for an informative webinar moderated by Haneefa Rakeeb DNP, PMHNP-BC, RN alongside esteemed speakers Christiian Storm Credle, PsyD and Christopher Thomas Tobias, MS, MHA, CHF, PA-C.
