Exploring Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Pathophysiology

This review highlights importance of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a dynamic disorder which involves fluctuations between contrasting forms of emotional dysregulation.1 This presentation will also provide a high-level overview of the pathophysiology of PTSD, including discussion of the potential role of monoamine neurotransmitter systems involved in emotional regulation and fear response in the amygdala.
