SAMHSA Seeks To Increase Use Of CBT For Psychosis From Current 1% To Standard Treatment

Standard treatment for schizophrenia disorders should include cognitive behavioral therapy for psychosis (CBTp), according to the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Currently, only about one percent of people with schizophrenia disorders have access to CBTp. As of 2015, only 0.1% of the mental health workforce had been trained on the technique.
