States Expand Access To Medicaid Behavioral Health Services
States are expanding access to Medicaid behavioral health services, mostly through funding from the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and other federal initiatives. For example, more than half of states reported plans to take up the new ARPA community-based mobile crisis intervention service option and about two-thirds reported another crisis service initiative.
