Trace Amine-Associated Receptor 1 (TAAR1): A Potential New Target for the Treatment of Schizophrenia
Trace amines and trace amine-associated receptors (TAAR) are found throughout the brain and peripheral tissuesand have modulating effects on neurotransmitters including dopamine, glutamate, and serotonin.1,2 The speaker(s) will discuss what are some of the potential effects of TAAR1 on neurotransmitter signaling related to schizophrenia and some of the preclinical data, as well as share the potential role of TAAR1 beyond schizophrenia.
