CBO Projects 15.5 Million Will Lose Medicaid & 6.2 Million Will Become Uninsured During PHE Unwinding

Over the next 1.5 years, the U.S. Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects that approximately 15.5 million current Medicaid beneficiaries under the age of 65 years will lose their Medicaid coverage as states resume eligibility redeterminations and disenrollments due to the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE).
