Cost Per Claim For Medicaid FFS Specialty Drugs Rose 20% In 2016

Fee-for-service (FFS) Medicaid specialty drug net cost per claim increased by more than 20% from 2015 to 2016. The average gross cost per specialty drug claim was $1,786.17 in 2015; and $2,194.27 in 2016, an increase of 22.8%. The average net cost per claim was $942.72 in 2015; and $1,136.60 during 2016, an increase of 20.5%.
