Introduction To LGBTQIA+ Populations, Mental Health Disparities, & How To Provide Culturally Competent & Affirming Care
Introduction To LGBTQIA+ Populations, Mental Health Disparities, & How To Provide Culturally Competent & Affirming Care
The month of June is Pride Month and throughout the world the LGBTQIA+ communities come together to celebrate sexual and gender diversity and to raise awareness of the ongoing pursuit for equality. PsychU will be joining the community awareness efforts, and during this webinar our speakers will begin by discussing what it means to be LGBTQIA+ identified. They will then identify and discuss many of the mental health disparities experienced by LGBTQIA+ populations and the barriers that impact their care. Lastly, the speakers will provide insights to identify approaches that provide culturally competent and affirming care for LGBTQIA+ populations.
