Robert N. Cuyler, PhD

MoreRobert N. Cuyler, PhD serves as Chief Clinical Officer of Freespira, Inc. With decades of experience as a practicing clinical psychologist, healthcare executive, and consultant, he supervises clinical operations of the company, heads research initiatives, and represents Freespira in conference, publication, and media outlets. In his clinical practice, he focuses on treatment of anxiety, panic conditions, and depression as well as health psychology. Dr. Cuyler received his Ph.D. in Psychology from Louisiana State University and Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Menninger Foundation. His consulting and management activities have focused on solving access problems in behavioral health, with a concentration on incorporating telemedicine and healthcare technology into clinical practice. He is author (with Dutch Holland, PhD) of the book Implementing Telemedicine: Completing Projects On Target On Time On Budget. He has authored or co-authored four textbook chapters on telemedicine, including the recently published second edition of the book Emergency Psychiatry. He previously served as President of the Association for Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare. His numerous public policy activities have included membership on the Texas Hospital Association’s Psychiatric Advisory Council, and member of the National Institute of Mental Health’s National Mental Health Leadership Council.
