About This Event
Virtual Event – Pharmacokinetics, Plasma Concentrations & Clinical Relevance
This is a Virtual Event for PsychU members in Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia and Washington, DC.
Pharmacokinetics refers to the study of how drugs are processed by the body. These processes play an important role in mental health treatments, and can vary due to several factors, ultimately impacting treatment of mental health. In this presentation, the speaker will first provide an overview of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Then, the speaker will discuss the differences between pharmacokinetics based on different medication formulations, including the differences between oral and long-acting injectable formulations. Finally, the importance of pharmacokinetics and plasma concentration monitoring will be discussed as it relates to the clinical setting.
