New Justice Department Guidelines Help Jails Manage Substance Withdrawals
New guidelines released by the Bureau of Justice Assistance and National Institute of Corrections advise jails and communities on providing effective health services for adult detainees at risk for or experiencing substance withdrawal during incarceration so that jail staff can systematically identify individuals who are at risk for withdrawal and determine the appropriate level of monitoring and medical care.
