Self-Perceived Cognitive Deficits & Their Relationship With Internalized Stigma & Quality Of Life In Patients With Schizophrenia

Key Messages

This study examined the relationship of subjective cognitive deficits with internalized stigma and quality of life (QoL) in 70 outpatients with stable schizophrenia.
In correlation analyses, significant intercorrelations (P < 0.01) were identified between scores for subjective cognitive deficits, internalized stigma, and QoL. In multiple regression analyses, subjective cognitive deficits score and internalized stigma score both predicted QoL score (P < 0.01). Mediation analysis suggested that internalized stigma may be a partial mediator of this relationship.
