Telehealth Visits Result In Fewer In-Person Follow-Ups Than In-Person Appointments

Telehealth consumers across most medical specialties are less likely to attend follow-up appointments 90 days after a visit compared to consumers following in-person appointments. Overall, follow-up visits after a telehealth appointment occurred between 1.4% and 12.6% of the time, depending on specialty. In comparison, follow-up visits after an in-person appointment occurred between 1.2% and 30.8% of the time, depending on specialty.
